Description

Directs all facets of the TRIO/Student Support Services Program with a high degree of complexity and autonomy, ensuring compliance not only with the terms and conditions of the grant but also with federal regulations. Responsible for the development, implementation, supervision and evaluation of all services and programs to meet the TRIO/SSS grant and college objectives.

Job Duties

  • Oversee all facets of IWCC TRIO-SSS program implementation through leadership, supervision, direction, and support and provides ongoing coaching and training.
  • Provide marketing and outreach to faculty and staff in order to increase awareness and knowledge.
  • Develop, plan, organize, promote, and evaluate high-quality, inclusive educational and cultural programs, workshops, and events.
  • Responsible for the identification, eligibility verification, interviewing, and acceptance of new program participants.
  • Develop, implement, modifies, and evaluate program policies, processes, and procedures to maximize the retention and graduation of participating students.
  • Develop, manage, and approve program budgets and expenditures. 
  • Prepare TRIO-SSS Annual Progress and Performance Reports (APR) and ensure accurate and complete data is maintained and compiled.
  • Interview, hire, train, and supervise TRIO-SSS Advisors, Tutors, and student Peer Mentors. 
  • Network with community resources in order to build a community network that assists TRIO-SSS students obtain internships, job placement, job shadowing, and further instructional workshops and programming.

Qualifications

  • Masterâ??s degree in Education, Higher Education Leadership, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
  • At least two years of experience in program management including budget oversight.
  • At least three years of experience working with and coordinating programs for culturally and economically diverse populations.
  • Previous experience working in higher education and familiarity of TRIO/SSS programs and the unique needs of first-generation and/or low-income students.
  • Preferences include experience with adult learners, federal grants, community leadership skills, and serving as a director or assistant director of a TRIO/SSS program or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a background check, have a valid US driver's license and clean driving record
