If you are looking for a place where you can make a difference in the life of a child, Project Harmony is looking for you.  We are seeking an experienced and committed Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic and innovative organization.   The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for general upkeep (repairs and maintenance) of Project Harmony commercial properties and facilities asset management. This position will report directly to the Facilities Manager.

 

Accepting applications for both full time and part-time positions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide routine assessments of property and assets.
  • Complete routine building inspections, document, and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, clean and orderly campus.
  • Provide direct resolution to facility and property issues and requests in an approved, responsive and cost-efficient manner.
  • Will utilize a work order system to log activities and progress of projects.
  • Following up with occupants to ensure that maintenance requests have been addressed satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
  • Lead with a problem-solving focus - anticipating needs and repairs. This may include providing hands-on services such as moving furniture, picking up trash, minor snow/salt maintenance, minor repairs that are within scope, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair or replace plumbing, electrical equipment, appliances, building lighting and fixtures, as required.
  • Schedule and coordinate with vendors and campus occupants for preventative and as-needed maintenance and facility upgrades.
  • Monitor facility temperatures, and controls to ensure building temperatures are maintained.
  • Coordinate/manage access for all new campus occupants and occupant turnover.
  • Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families we serve without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender or sexual orientation.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education and Training

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Training or experience in facility maintenance procedures and processes.

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of facility maintenance experience or trade school preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Basic mechanical, plumbing and electrical, light carpentry skills and the ability to recognize potential service issues
  • Comfortability using power tools.
  • Skilled in drywall repair from patching to completion and proficient in painting both spot repairs and large areas.
  • Computer and technical skills using office software products.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Windows 11.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to operate standard equipment.
  • Ability to conduct minor repairs.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Understanding and following of basic OSHA requirements and safety standards.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage competing demands and adapt to frequent or unexpected changes.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations and follow established emergency procedures.
  • Fleet management, administration of vehicle use, routine inspections, and maintenance as needed.
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strict adherence to Project Harmony policies, handbook, and code of conduct.

 

Other

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, and on occasion, may need to respond to after-hours calls.
  • Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state.
